Kochi, July 10 -- The 24-hour nationwide Bharat Bandh protests called by a forum of 10 central trade unions against the alleged "pro-corporate" and "anti-worker" policies of the BJP-led Union government had limited impact in most parts of the country on Wednesday, except Kerala and parts of Odisha and West Bengal. Trade union activists protested in Kerala cities like Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode, blocking the movement of passenger buses and freight carriages. Private buses, state-owned KSRTC buses, and auto-rickshaws stayed off the roads. Many employees, including ministers, did not report for work.
