India, Jan. 7 -- The Urban Cruiser EV is based on the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, which is yet to be launched in India. As seen with other rebadged models sold by Toyota in the country, the electric SUV will share its core design, platform and hardware with the Suzuki counterpart, while featuring a few brand-specific changes.

Globally, the Urban Cruiser EV is already on sale in markets such as the UK. In terms of proportions and overall shape, it is identical to the e Vitara. The similarities are most evident at the rear, where both SUVs look nearly the same.
