India, Sept. 29 -- The Madras high court on Sunday expressed "deep sorrow" over the Karur stampede that killed 40 people during actor-politician Vijay's rally, terming it a "shocking incident, and agreed to urgently hear a plea filed by his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party. The petition alleged a political conspiracy behind the Saturday incident and sought a court-monitored probe, or, a probe by any "independent agency." PXX
