New Delhi, Dec. 31 -- At 1.04am on May 7, Indian forces launched precision strikes at nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir with a mix of missiles and smart munitions fired by aircraft and ground forces. Announced by the government 40 minutes later, the operation targeted five terror training camps across the Line of Control, between 9km and 30km inside PoK, and four targets across the international border 6km-100 km inside Pakistan. This was the deepest attack inside the neighbouring country since 1971 and was meant as retribution for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 22 people, the worst terror strike in the country since the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
