New Delhi, April 28 -- The extraordinary Pope Francis has been buried. Usually, we talk about a deceased person's work and times during mourning, and then forget about it. We cannot afford to do that in this case.
From my green lens, the greatest contribution from Pope Francis was Laudato Si: On Care for Our Common Home. This is a very long encyclical, or a letter, addressed to everyone, where the Pope acknowledged the present ecological crisis.
In the encyclical, the Pope called for an ecological conversion, i.e., interactions and encounters that Christians have with nature should reflect their relationship with Christ. He also pointed out that not only are some Catholics "passive" about the planet, some even ridicule protecting it.
