New Delhi, July 29 -- Congress MP Shashi Tharoor turned down the party's offer to participate in the debate on Operation Sindoor as he refused to change his line in support of the government and its actions, party functionaries said on Monday. According to two Congress leaders, the party's deputy leader in the Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi reached out to Tharoor on Sunday evening and asked if he was interested in speaking during the debate. Tharoor, however, stood his ground, saying that throughout Operation Sindoor and during his involvement in the subsequent diplomatic outreach, he had been supportive of the government on the matter.
