India, Jan. 22 -- Tesla entered the Indian market in July 2025 with a single product: the Tesla Model Y. Unlike several other global carmakers that assemble vehicles locally, Tesla chose the fully imported route for its India debut. That decision immediately placed the Model Y in a high tax bracket, with import duties crossing 100 per cent and pushing prices well beyond what most buyers associate with the brand internationally.

In Delhi, the Model Y currently carries an ex-showroom price of Rs.59.89 lakh for the rear-wheel-drive standard range variant. The long-range rear-wheel-drive version is priced at Rs.67.89 lakh.
