India, Jan. 14 -- American electric automaker Tesla is set to discontinue full self-driving (FSD) vehicle purchases from February 14, 2026, onwards. Additionally, Tesla would shift to a subscription-only model from February 15, stated Elon Musk in a tweet on X (formerly Twitter).

The subscription would allow users to enjoy the fully self-driving feature whenever they need it by paying the subscription fees. However, the company has recently faced criticism and backlash after a U.S. jury found that a Model S utilising its fully self-driving vehicle was involved in an accident which severely injured a pedestrian while killing the other in 2019.
