new delhi, April 29 -- Delhi residents endured another hot day on Monday, with the maximum temperature hitting 40.4degC - a degree above normal - marking the fifth straight day above 40degC. Peak power demand also surged to 6,015MW, the highest for April since 2022. A slight dip in temperature is expected Tuesday, with IMD forecasting thundery developments by evening and winds of 10-20 km/hr. More relief is likely from May 1, with a yellow alert issued for light rain and gusty winds up on Thursday and Friday. "The maximum will hover between 38-40degC on Tuesday.
