Tej Pratap floats new party ahead of Bihar polls
PATNA, Sept. 27 -- Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad's elder son Tej Pratap Yadav on Friday announced that he has floated a new party, Janshakti Janata Dal, for "a long battle" in poll-bound Bihar.
The development came months after Lalu Prasad expelled Tej Pratap from the party and indicated to snap familial ties with the former Bihar minister. Tej Pratap said his new party would contest the Assembly polls on the election symbol of blackboard. The former RJD leader had announced the launch of his own political party on September 13.
Expelled from the RJD for six years on May 25 this year on charges of "irresponsible behaviour" and violation of family values, Tej Pratap also shared the party's poster on his official X handle. ...
