India, May 2 -- Perplexity is battling Google, to find a way to have its Perplexity AI Assistant preloaded on Android phones. Perplexity has also thrown its hat in the ring to take ownership of the Chrome web browser, if Google is forced to cut it loose. In essence, there is a lot going on at Perplexity, Aravind Srinivas' artificial intelligence (AI) company. The last six months, provide a snapshot of an intense period, one the company seems intent to make as the foundation for bigger, better things. It won't be easy through, because for some functionality and indeed subscription revenue (users tend to choose one, at the most two), their AI landscape competition includes Google, OpenAI, and a re-energised Meta.
