Tanvi, Vennala secure bronze after semis loss
NEW DELHI, July 27 -- Tanvi Sharma and Vennala Kalagotla lost their women's singles semi-finals to finish with bronze medals as the Indian campaign in the Badminton Asia Junior Championships in Solo, Indonesia came to an end on Saturday.
Vennala fought hard against China's Liu Si Ya and saved three match points before losing 15-21, 18-21.
On the other court, second seed Tanvi lost to Chinese eighth seed Yin Yi Qing 13-21, 14-21.
Tanvi staged a spirited fightback in the second game to lead 6-1, but Yin clawed her way back to level at 8-8 before pulling ahead to secure the match.
