India, Feb. 5 -- India was the first country anywhere in the world to get the five-door version of the enormously popular Jimny SUV. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny was launched in the country in 2023 after an endless wait but while there was some initial buzz around it, sales have been lukewarm here. But over in Japan, the five-door version of the vehicle has become a mammoth hit since export units began making way from India last month. Such has been the reception that there is a backlog of up to three years on the orders for the model that is named Suzuki Nomad here.
