India, Jan. 31 -- When the T20 World Cup came around in 2009, the euphoria around the shortest format had well and truly taken over. With India winning the maiden World T20 and the triumph becoming a launchpad for the Indian Premier League (IPL), the crowds all over the world had well and truly shown their love and appreciation for cricket being played at a rollicking pace, and there being no chance of mundane stuff going on the 22 yards. Hence, it was no surprise that the anticipation was going through the roof for the second edition of the World Cup in the UK.

The 2009 tournament saw the innocence of the 2007 edition fade, but there was still some rawness as the ruthlessness of modern T20 hadn't yet arrived, and only a few batters show...
