India, Oct. 27 -- The Supreme Court on Monday issued summons to Chief Secretaries of all but two states over failing to file compliance affidavits in the stray dog matter. The development comes months after the Supreme Court directed authorites to pick up stray dogs but also release them back upon sterilisation and immunisation.
Representatives of all states, except West Bengal and Telangana, were issued summons by the Supreme Court, and asked to appear before it on November 3 to explain why compliance affidavits were not filed in the stray dogs case.
More details awaited.
