Mumbai, March 25 -- The controversy over Kunal Kamra's jibe at Maharashtra deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde intensified on Monday, with chief minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking the comedian's apology; the police arresting 12 workers of the Shinde-led Shiv Sena for ransacking the venue in Mumbai where the stand-up show was held; and the Mumbai civic body razing a temporary structure at the hotel over building violations.
The incident also drew a sharp reaction from Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, who criticised the Shinde-led Sena workers for the vandalism. Other opposition parties also voiced their support for the comic and called the FIR against him a "mockery of law".
