Srinagar, March 6 -- The Jammu and Kashmir assembly on Wednesday witnessed stormy scenes over leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma's 'traitor' remarks for 21 Kashmiris slain on Maharaja Hari Singh's orders in 1931.

Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather later expunged Sharma's remarks, following which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders staged a walkout from the assembly.

The development came after Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) legislative party leader Waheed ur Rehman Parra sought that "martyrs' day" status be restored to July 13.
