India, April 17 -- The Indian stock market rallied during the trading session on Thursday, April 27, led by banking and financial services stocks.

At 1:40pm, the benchmark BSE Sensex was up by 1,315.59 points or 1.71%, reaching 78,359.88. The broader NSE Nifty was up 369.10 points or 1.57% in the green, reaching 23,806.30.

Among the 30 Sensex stocks, Eternal rose the most by 5.09%, trading at Rs.233.35. This was followed by ICICI Bank, which rose 3.46%, trading at Rs.1403.65, SBI, which rose 3.21%, trading at Rs.796.55, Bharti Airtel, which was up by 3.12%, reaching Rs.1,879.90, and Kotak Mahindra Bank which was up 3.11%, reaching Rs.2,189.
