New Delhi, March 11 -- States and Union territories (UTs) across the country have utilised only 31% of the fund, or Rs.233.27 crore of the total Rs.729.24 crore, allocated under the sports and physical education component of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in 2024-25, the Centre informed the Lok Sabha on Monday.

Notably, nine states and UTs are yet to spend any of their allocated funds allocated under the SSA - a centrally sponsored scheme for public schools with the Centre and states funding in 60:40 - in FY25 data shared by minister of state (MoS) for education Jayant Choudhary stated.
