Srinagar, July 2 -- Jammu and Kashmir summer capital Srinagar has recorded the hottest June month since 1978, and second hottest since 1892, Srinagar meteorological centre's director Mukhtar Ahmad and independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif said on Tuesday.

Arif, while taking to his Kashmir_weather handle on X, said that the average maximum mean temperature for June 2025 stood at 31degC. "The mean minimum temperature in June 2025 settled at 18.2degC, resulting in an overall average temperature of 24.6degC," he said.
