Soon, Sabarmati-esque riverfront in Delhi: Shah
New Delhi, May 2 -- Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken steps to preserve the purity and sanctity of the river Yamuna, and to build a riverfront on the lines of Sabarmati in Delhi.
Speaking at an event held in the city on the foundation day of the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra, Shah said, "The purification of the Yamuna is not only important for the residents of Delhi and neighbouring states but also holds great spiritual and cultural importance for all Indians who have devotion toward Lord Krishna and the Yamuna."
Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta and LG VK Saxena were present at the event.
