Six injured in Sonowal convoy crash in Assam
Silchar, Jan. 5 -- Six people, including four police personnel, were injured on Sunday after the convoy of Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal collided with a civilian car in Assam's Dibrugarh district, officials said.
The incident occurred in the afternoon when former Assam chief minister Sonowal was travelling along the Hatiali Bypass from Dibrugarh to his ancestral village, Bindhakata, in Chabua. Rajya Sabha MP Rameswar Teli was also part of the convoy at the time of the crash.
According to police, three vehicles from the minister's convoy were involved in the collision. One escort vehicle reportedly hit a civilian car, injuring several occupants.
