six held after gunfight with cops in nw delhi

New Delhi, Feb. 6 -- The police have apprehended a gangster and five of his associates after a gunfight inside an apartment in Rani Bagh. Police said the accused were involved in an armed robbery in January, where they allegedly robbed Rs.85,000 at a shop.

Sachin Sharma, DCP (outer) said, "While the police tried confronting the accused, they opened fire at the police party. The police team retaliated."

Sharma said Rani Bagh SHO Prabhanshu Kumar charged at the accused to save his staff. "The team then barged in and apprehended them." said an officer. htc
