India, Oct. 22 -- Further fueling questions around the Congress government leadership in Karnataka, chief minister Siddaramaiah's son Yathindra has now pitched minister Satish Jarkiholi as a possible successor to his father - in effect challenging the narrative that deputy CM DK Shivakumar is the only alternative or successor.
Jarkiholi, 63, should be mentored by CM Siddaramaiah, 77, who is in the final phase of his political career, Yathindra Siddaramaiah said at an event in Chikkodi, Belagavi district, on October 21. Later speaking to reporters, the Congress leader who is a member of the upper house of the Karnataka legislature, ruled out any talks about leadership change at present.
