New Delhi, Sept. 22 -- Chinese scientists, led by Bingying Liu, have found a worrisome link between plastics and foetuses. They sampled 1,324 pregnant women and found microplastics in every single placenta. Even worse, they found evidence that the foetus was suffering endocrine disruption, which means they were not developing normally. Endocrine disruption means that the hormones that regulate several functions of the body are hijacked by chemicals, such as those found in various plastics.
