His transformation from an understandably nervy first-time Test captain to an authoritative leader by the end of the five-match showdown in England was evident, helped by the fact that he amassed more runs in a series (754) by an Indian skipper than ever before.
But does that necessarily mean that he should be an automatic choice for the T20 Asia Cup, beginning in Dubai on September 9?
