India, Dec. 29 -- A video of a physical altercation between an animal activist and a dog sitter has surfaced online. As per the video, the activist slapped the dog sitter after a CCTV recording revealed the latter beating a German Shepherd with the buckle side of a belt while drunk. The video has sparked outrage among people, leaving them divided.

"This is a short video captured by another caretaker on their phone. I have submitted a written complaint to the police, who will review all the CCTV footage and have registered an FIR. I will ensure that this horrific pet boarding facility is shut down," Mumbai-based animal activist Vijay Rangare wrote on Instagram.
