Patna, March 31 -- Union home minister Amit Shah on Sunday sounded the poll bugle for the Bihar assembly elections due later this year, addressing a public rally at Gopalganj - the home district of RJD chief Lalu Prasad - and later holding a key meeting of ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners at chief minister Nitish Kumar's residence.

Addressing the rally in Gopalganj, on the second day of his visit to the poll-bound state, Shah urged the people to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by voting the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA back to power and singled out Lalu Prasad and his family for "halting" Bihar's development.
