SHah reviews food storage, credit infra
New Delhi, June 3 -- Union home and cooperation minister Amit Shah on Monday chaired a review meeting to assess an ongoing programme to build the world's largest cooperative food grain storage infrastructure, which he said was aimed at increasing the incomes of primary agricultural cooperative societies (PACS), as well as boosting employment, a statement said.
"It is necessary to make PACS an integral part of this scheme so that the financial viability and social effectiveness of PACS can be ensured," the minister said, directing the food ministry to conduct national-level mapping of warehouses so that the "implementation of the scheme can be done smoothly according to regional requirements".
