Services PMI gains pace in Nov
New Delhi, Dec. 4 -- Growth in India's services sector regained momentum in November, reversing part of October's slowdown, as stronger domestic demand boosted output and new business inflows, a release from S&P Global showed on Wednesday. The seasonally adjusted HSBC India Services PMI Business Activity Index rose to 59.8 in November from 58.9 in October, signalling faster expansion in activity.
The index has now remained above the 50-mark, which separates growth from contraction, for around four years. "India's services PMI Business Activity Index rose from 58.9 in October to 59.8 in November, driven by robust new business intakes that fuelled output growth," said Pranjul Bhandari, chief India economist at HSBC.
