New Delhi, Feb. 28 -- The Centre has ordered the removal of security cover of at least two dozen West Bengal-based BJP functionaries, including a former minister of state. While the MHA is yet to issue a statement, people aware of the matter said the security cover was provided to different BJP MP candidates, former MPs, district party presidents and state conveners after a threat assessment was conducted by the Centre through the Intelligence Bureau (IB).
