Lucknow, Jan. 3 -- The Uttar Pradesh government extended the closure of all schools up to Class 12 until January 5 due to a severe cold wave in the state. The order applies to all ICSE, CBSE and UP Board schools across the state, a spokesperson said on Friday.
The decision, which will apply to schools in NCR cities of Noida, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, among others, follows instructions from UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, issued in view of concerns over the safety of students due to the cold. On December 29, the state government had ordered the closure of schools up to Class 12 across the state until January 1, 2026, citing severe cold wave conditions.
