SC tells CBI to investigate IHFL loan irregularities
New Delhi, July 22 -- The Supreme Court on Monday told the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) that there is sufficient material to initiate a probe into the alleged wrongdoings by non-banking financial company (NBFC) Indiabulls Housing Finance Limited (IHFL) in advancing loans to corporate entities.
The court was considering a petition filed by non-government organisation (NGO) Citizens Whistleblower Forum which had approached the court seeking probe against IHFL, now known as Sammaan Capital Limited, after the Delhi high court had refused to entertain the same.
