New Delhi, Feb. 4 -- The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to submit an action plan against stubble burning - one of the major causes of pollution in NCR in winter - after getting consensus from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh on the proposed way forward.
Dealing with the recurring problem of stubble burning witnessed by the Capital each year, a bench headed by justice Abhay S Oka said, "We request the CAQM to call for a meeting of representatives of Punjab, Haryana and UP...After considering their responses and consulting states, CAQM will come out with its own views on the issue."
