SC slams 'spl pujas' for affluent that deny rest to deity
New Delhi, Dec. 16 -- The Supreme Court on Monday criticised the practice of allowing people to do "special pujas" in temples in exchange for money, disrupting the "resting time" of deity, as it agreed to examine a plea against changes in 'darshan' timings and temple practices at the Bankey Bihari Ji Temple.
It issued notice to the SC-appointed high-powered temple committee and the UP government and listed the matter for further hearing in January.
