New Delhi, Nov. 8 -- The Supreme Court on Friday sought the response of the Centre and Bar Council of India (BCI) on extending 33% reservation to women lawyers across state bar councils in the states where elections are due before end of January next year. Issuing notice on a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by lawyer Shehla Chaudhary, the court posted the matter for hearing next week even as it observed that the petitioner has come at a belated stage.
