New Delhi, Aug. 27 -- The Supreme Court has ordered a fresh forensic examination into the audio tapes alleging former Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh's role in instigating the violence in the state after it found the earlier exercise conducted by the government forensic lab at Guwahati to be unsatisfactory.
The top court in an order passed on Monday and made public on Tuesday, directed the tapes to be sent to the National Forensic Science Laboratory (NFSL) Gandhinagar in Gujarat with a two-fold direction to determine whether the tapes are tampered or edited in any manner and if the voice in the "disputed" audio clips matches with that of the former CM.
