SC junks Chaitanya Baghel's plea challenging arrest in liquor case
New Delhi, Aug. 5 -- The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a plea filed by Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, challenging his arrest in the Chhattisgarh liquor scam and directed him to approach the high court for seeking relief.
Both Chaitanya and his father had moved separate petitions challenging the wide powers exercised by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in carrying out arbitrary arrests based on "piecemeal" charge sheets filed from time to time.
