SC forms panel to mark mining lease limits in A.P.
New Delhi, Sept. 20 -- The Supreme Court on Friday appointed a five-member committee headed by a former apex court judge to determine boundaries of six mining leases in Andhra Pradesh, including those belonging to the Reddy brothers, after their mining operations were banned following allegations of illegal mining and encroachment beyond authorised areas.
CJI Bhushan R Gavai, heading a bench with justices K Vinod Chandran and NV Anjaria, passed the order while hearing an appeal by the Andhra Pradesh government.
