Bhopal/Morena, Jan. 29 -- At around 10am, Pahargarh village chief Shailendra Shakya and other villagers heard an explosion in the sky. When they looked up, they saw one ball of fire crashing down and another hurtling towards the Chambal river.

Immediately afterwards, they saw two people floating down in parachutes.

"It was like watching a movie. Instead of following the plane, we waited 15 minutes for parachutes to land near a forest in our village," Shakya said.

"The parachutes got stuck in thorny trees after landing, and the pilots received injuries. We helped them in coming down safely."

Village guard Mukesh Batham, who was in a neighbouring forest with his goats, was another witness to the crash.
