India, Nov. 24 -- As the nation mourned the demise of Bollywood superstar Dharmendra, Indian cricket legends Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar paid tributes, describing him as a "legend" and "icon" of Indian cinema, whose work left a lasting mark on generations of film lovers.

Dharam Singh Deol, popularly known as Dharmendra, had been unwell for a while. He was recently admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai, before being discharged on November 12. After showing signs of recovery, the family finally decided to continue his treatment at home. He died in Mumbai on Monday at the age of 89.
