Rudrapur, Dec. 25 -- The Rudrapur Municipal Corporation (RMC) in Uttarakhand on Wednesday announced a ban on the slaughter, sale and consumption of chicken, mutton and fish within the municipal limits every Tuesday, with the decision set to come into force next year. Mayor Vikas Sharma said the ban will apply not only to meat shops but also to hotels and roadside eateries, which will not be permitted to serve non-vegetarian food on Tuesdays. "We have decided to observe Tuesday as a weekly off for the sale and consumption of non-vegetarian food in the RMC area.
