RSS takes out K'taka march after court nod, political row
Bengaluru, Nov. 17 -- The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Sunday took out their scheduled route march in Chittapur, after the state high court on Saturday directed the government to uphold the decision by district authorities to issue conditional approval for the event, bringing to a close a long-drawn out controversy over the march.
The event, which, according to police, was held amid strong security arrangements, covered roughly one and a half kilometres.
Meanwhile, Chittapur MLA and state minister Priyank Kharge, who had opposed the march, on Sunday questioned the RSS' approach to law and rules. "I have never opposed the route march. All I said was that permission should be taken. They have a habit of not following the rule of law. ...
