Kolkata, Nov. 8 -- At least Rs.56 lakh was siphoned off from a bank account of Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee, police said on Friday, citing a complaint by the State Bank of India (SBI).
A police officer said the fraudsters allegedly used a fake Aadhaar, PAN and phone number to reactivate a dormant account Banerjee held as an MLA between 2001 and 2006 to transfer Rs.56.34 lakh. P12
