Bengaluru, Sept. 4 -- An interaction between a Congress MLA and the press in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka has led to a controversy after his offhand response to a woman reporter was condemned as sexist and dismissive.
Hariyal MLA RV Deshpande was speaking to journalists when he was asked about the demand for a hospital in Joida. "If you have to have a delivery, let me know; we will get it done elsewhere," he said when a female reporter asked about difficulties pregnant women face in reaching medical facilities. htc
