New Delhi, June 12 -- In a move to ensure transparency and curb misuse of the Tatkal ticket booking system, Indian Railways on Wednesday announced that it will make Aadhaar authentication mandatory for online bookings, starting July 2025. "These changes are aimed at enhancing user authentication and reducing misuse of the scheme," a statement issued by the government said.
