India, March 17 -- The Supreme Court on Monday allowed the parents of the doctor who was allegedly raped and murdered inside the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata last August to pursue their petition for a further probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the incident before the Calcutta high court.

While Sanjay Roy, the main accused in the case, was on January 20 sentenced to life term by a Sealdah sessions court, the parents have sought a further probe to ascertain the alleged role of some other persons.
