New Delhi, May 29 -- India's food safety regulator, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) held its central advisory committee meeting with stakeholders on Tuesday to look for strategies for states on how best to implement Prime Minister Narendra Modi's suggestion to reduce oil consumption by 10%, according to people familiar with the matter. Among other issues on the agenda, they added, were how states can enhance their food safety surveillance, encourage the availability of nutritious and safe food options, and promote the "Eat Right India" movement which was introduced in 2018 to improve public health and combat negative nutritional trends to fight lifestyle diseases.
