India, June 26 -- Housing sales declined by an estimated 20% to 96,285 units during the April-June quarter across seven major cities, down from 1,20,335 units in the same period last year, according to a report by Anarock. Sales dropped in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Kolkata. Chennai was the only city to have bucked the trend, recording an increase in demand.
Of all the cities, only Chennai witnessed an 11% year-on-year rise in housing sales, with approximately 5,660 units sold in Q2 2025, compared to 5,100 units in Q2 2024. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the city saw a sharp 40% jump in sales, it said.
