India, Feb. 10 -- Shekhar Patel, president of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI), has said the real estate sector had high expectations from Budget 2026, particularly for stronger support for affordable housing, but these were not met. He said that the developers' body will continue engaging with the central government on key affordable housing issues, including revising its definition by removing the Rs.45 lakh price cap, Patel told HT Real Estate.
